The details of programs of study approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (National Board) are available below, listed in five categories.
You can search for all approved programs of study leading to registration as an enrolled nurse (EN), registered nurse (RN) and/or midwife, by clicking on the relevant category below. You can also use the search to find approved programs of study leading to endorsements for RNs and midwives.
For information about ENs having a notation removed from their registration, please see the fact sheet.
Programs of study classified as "Inactive" are not included in these lists. An online search is available for Inactive Programs of Study; these are programs of study no longer delivered by an education provider or are no longer approved for new enrolments by the National Board.
An individual who holds a qualification that is listed as ‘inactive’ will still be qualified for registration, endorsement or notation dependent on the qualification type, provided they enrolled in the program when it was approved or before the program became inactive.
Please note that the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia is not involved in the delivery of Board-approved programs of study, setting the student fee for a program of study or deciding when and where programs of study are offered.
Individual education providers decide each year whether to offer a course (Board-approved program of study). The course costs are set by the education provider. These costs vary based on the course content including supervised clinical experience placements, student insurance arrangements, government subsidies and whether students are Australian citizens. Individual education provider websites provide detailed course dates and fee information.
