National Board urges registrants to update their contact details to receive registration renewal reminders.

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (National Board) will launch its 2014 registration renewal campaign in mid-March and is urging nurses and midwives to update their contact details.

Nearly 354,400 nurses and midwives across Australia are due to renew their general or non-practising registration with the National Board by 31 May.

The National Board urges all nurses and midwives to make sure the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) has your current email contact details so you don’t miss reminders to renew your registration.

The National Board will also use your email address to send regular newsletters and important communication.

More than 99.5 per cent of nurses and midwives have provided AHPRA with an email address. However, about four per cent of emails bounce back undelivered.

To update your contact details

Use AHPRA’s secure online services for health practitioners on the AHPRA website:

  • go to the bottom of the home page
  • click on Update contact details under Services for Practitioners
  • use your user ID and secure password, and
  • follow the prompts.

If you do not have your user ID, complete an online enquiry form (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency - Make an Enquiry) and select ‘Online Access’ as the category type.

If you’ve forgotten your password it can be updated using the password reset function. You must have previously had an email address registered with AHPRA to be able to use this function.

Keep a look out for the AHPRA reminders to renew in mid-March as confirmation that online renewal is open.
