The new Registration standard: Endorsement for scheduled medicines - designated registered nurse prescriber will come into effect in September 2025.To give applicants time to familiarise themselves with the new standard, the NMBA has published an advance copy below.
To support awareness and understanding of the new standard, advance copies of a Fact sheet and Guidelines have been released. These documents may be updated or amended throughout implementation of the standard.
The Registration standard: Endorsement for scheduled medicines - designated registered nurse prescriber will come into effect in September 2025.
This registration standard for a scheduled medicines endorsement will allow suitably qualified registered nurses to prescribe scheduled medicines 2, 3, 4 and 8 in partnership with an authorised health practitioner under a clinical governance framework and an active prescribing agreement.
