Re-entry to practice

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) protects the public by ensuring that anyone who is registered as a nurse and/or midwife is safe and competent to practise. Under the National Law, there is a mandatory requirement for applicants for registration and renewal of registration to meet the NMBA requirements in relation to the nature, extent, period and recency of any previous practice. The NMBA has provided a suite of supporting documents to facilitate a better understanding of the Re-entry to practice policy.
