Information for your 2023 renewal of registration

Registration renewal is online only

You must complete your registration renewal online. Read the renewal information on the Ahpra website for helpful tips on logging on and information on what you need to do to renew.

No change to fees this year

For the second year in a row, registration fees have not changed. The cost of renewing your general registration will remain at $180 for the 2023 period.

CPD requirements for 2023

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia’s expectations about CPD have returned to pre-COVID requirements. Continuing professional development (CPD) is how nurses and midwives improve and broaden their knowledge, expertise and competence, and develop the personal and professional qualities needed throughout their professional lives. Read more about your CPD requirements on the NMBA website.

Got questions about your renewal?

The renewal FAQs on the Ahpra website cover common questions on professional indemnity insurance, recency of practice, continuing professional development, and what to do if you have a change in your criminal history or health impairments you need to tell us about. Remember you don’t need to tell us about well managed health conditions that do not affect your practice.

If it’s your first-time renewing, check out our tips to help you get it right.
