Call for applications for appointment to the Nursing Board of Australia

20 Apr 2026

There is one community member vacancy arising on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.

The National Registration and Accreditation Scheme has an important role in ensuring the health workforce is culturally safe, respectful, responsive to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples’ needs and promotes the elimination of racism in health care.

To help achieve this, we are committed to increasing Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander leadership and voices on National Boards and warmly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples to apply.

We are also committed to increasing diversity and social inclusion on National Boards. Applications are encouraged from people in rural and remote areas, people with a disability, people who identify as LGBTIQA+ and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.

More information about the roles, eligibility requirements and the application process can be found within the online application form on Ahpra’s Board member recruitment page.

If you have questions, please contact the Ahpra statutory appointments team via email: [email protected].

Applications open: Monday 20 April 2026.

Applications close Sunday 24 May 2026, 11:55pm AEST.
